Guys from Horizon just build this and it’s available on the market. You can charge from it every cellphone, smartphone, you can power a litlle fan or turn it into a flashlite.
The MiniPak provides 1.5 to 2W of continuous power through a standard USB port, and uses hydrogen cartridges wich are refilable and gives you up to 12Wh of energy. It is made to extend the use of small portable electronics. The Minipak’s usage is limited to small devices, but it truly is a miniature power plant that produces electricity directly from hydrogen.
The MiniPak uses a combination fuel cells and a new low-cost metal hydride storage solution, which is able to safely store hydrogen as a dry, non-toxic and non-pressurized material. The fuel cartridge contains a metallic sponge that is able to absorb hydrogen and turn it into a solid hydride. It is then able to release it back to the fuel cell when needed. In short it works this way, the fuel cell combines oxygen from the air with the stored hydrogen and gives electricity via its USB port.
New technology that is or that it will be
